There are a few extensions I've used in this wiki
- I've written a CTF one to help pages flow about more effectively
- What's Popular - bottom of main page
- Personal Recommendations, based on click traffic - bottom of user pages
- Related Pages, also based on click traffic - bottom of other pages, including search results
- with intros on, user pages (e.g. User:Gav) appear in recommendations and related pages, so that users can "meet" like-minded users
- simple included external images
- html5 tag for videos, sound etc
There are lots of other things you can integrate
- calendars
- comments
- rating systems
- RSVP's
- maps
- whatever you like
The point is, its very adaptable.
