At it's most basic, you can think of

  • Information = CONTENT.
  • Knowledge = CONTEXT.

Knowledge can be easy to share = explicit - e.g. how you use this information ...

or not so easy to share = tacit - e.g. why this information is interesting ...

A Knowledge web is a way to express context.

For example, here's an image showing Science journals mapped by the traffic passing between them.

It shows the relationships between things. This sort of thing can make a big difference when you're using information.
