There are a few extensions I've used in this wiki
- I've written a CTF one to help pages flow about more effectively
- what's popular shown on the main page
- related pages based on click traffic - bottom of other pages
- personal recommendations, also based on click traffic - bottom of user pages
- simple included external images
- html5 tag for videos, sound etc
There are lots of other things you can integrate
- calendars
- comments
- rating systems
- RSVP's
- maps
- whatever you like
The point is, its very adaptable.
